All voting members are encouraged to attend a special congregational meeting next Sunday. Check in opens at 11:45 am and the meeting begins at 12:00 pm.
Purpose: Fellowship needs to vote on sanctuary replacement HVAC system. System cost requires Fellowship approval per bylaws.
Recommended HVAC replacement system proposal: Hisense 5 TON Side Discharge Heat Pump installed by Eagle Pipe Heating and Air. Provides efficient heating and cooling functions for sanctuary. Cost: $29,157.16. Optional air return duct (if needed): $868.14. Warranty: Parts 10 years, Labor 10 years with extended service agreement. Funded with Endowment monies.
Background: Current sanctuary electric furnace failed in May 2025. The Building and Grounds Committee did thorough research into replacement units including both electric furnaces (heat only) and heat pumps (efficient heating and cooling). The committee received 6 quotes from 3 separate installers. After in-depth discussions, Building and Grounds selected the recommended heat pump system for its heating and cooling, efficient operation, better technical specs and improved warranty. The recommended system was presented to the Board which approved it as the recommended unit. Eric Howlett will hold an open Zoom meeting on Wednesday, September 24, for anyone who would like to discuss the selection process and/or technical details. A shortened review will be done at the special business meeting on September 28.
