2024 / 2025 Charitable Giving Partners
Each year our Charitable Giving Team picks twelve worthy causes. The first Sunday of the month, the monthly partner is able to speak to the fellowship about their important work in our community. Each week during service, as we pass the basket for our fellowship, and also accept donations to our monthly partner.
May - Kitsap Immigrant Assistance Center: KIAC is committed to the wellbeing of immigrants and the development of a rich multicultural community. It works to empower, educate and integrate immigrants through advocacy and social justice. KIAC is a tiny, under-funded organization trying to meet a huge need. https://kitsapiac.org/
June - West Sound Wellness Foundation: At Westsound Wellness Foundation, we are dedicated to serving the unmet needs of HIV/AIDS clients, GLBTQ clients, Terminal and Chronic Care Patients, and low-income or uninsured patients in need of reproductive health. https://westsoundwellnessfoundation.net/
July - Bremerton Foodline: The mission of the Bremerton Foodline is to provide food assistance and other services to reduce hunger and improve self-sufficiency for those within our community. http://www.bremertonfoodline.org/
August - Backpack Brigade, Bremerton Branch: They provide practical, shelf stable, fresh fruit, vegetables and kid friendly food on weekends for children in need throughout the Bremerton School District. Due to homelessness, financial struggles and other issues, these are often the most nutritious meals or the only meals children will receive all day. https://www.bremertonbackpackbrigade.org/
September - Kitsap Homes of Compassion: Established in 2017, Kitsap Homes of Compassion, a 501c3 non-profit, was created to help end the problem of homelessness in Kitsap County by using existing homes to provide safe and affordable permanent supportive housing. Kitsap Homes of Compassion offers Housing Support Services to help people find safe and stable housing, in or out of KHOC’s Housing Program. https://khoc.homes/
October - Foundation for Homeless & Poverty Management: The Foundation for Homeless and Poverty Management (FHPM), an African American majority run 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was established in 2020 at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. As the world grappled with unprecedented challenges, including widespread business closures and stay-at-home orders, the need for community support and resources became increasingly apparent. Our mission is to break the cycle of generational homelessness and poverty, with a focus on uplifting Black lives through a two-generational approach. FHPM aims to serve communities as a whole with a focus in the Black, Indigenous, people of Color (BIPOC) community, especially Black Americans. https://www.homelesspovertymanagement.org/home
November - NAACP Local Chapter: The mission of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination. https://naacp.org/
December - Planned Parenthood Local Branch: Planned Parenthood delivers vital reproductive health care, sex education, and information to millions of women, men, and young people worldwide regardless of the individual's income, marital status, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, national origin, or residence. https://www.plannedparenthood.org/
January - Peninsula Community Health Services: Peninsula Community Health Services (PCHS) is a community based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing accessible, affordable, compassionate, quality health and wellness services for our communities. Peninsula Community Health Services (PCHS) was founded in 1987 as a community clinic in downtown Bremerton and became a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in 1993. PCHS health services include primary medical, dental, behavioral health counseling, substance abuse treatment, pharmacy services, and health education and promotion. https://www.pchsweb.org/
February - Partner Church: For the last several years KUUF has supported our Partner Church's children’s summer camp. As well as the usual camp experiences, these children also enjoy English lessons that are very important to their education. March - Kitsap Black Student Union: Kitsap Black Student Union’s mission is to provide a safe space to celebrate culture, learn and preserve our rich history while empowering youth leadership through mentoring and community service. https://kitsapblackstudentunion.org/
April - SouthKitsap Helpline: The South Kitsap Helpline is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which has served South Kitsap children, adults and senior citizens in need since 1980.
