Our KUUF Minister Search Committee is seeking a new minister for KUUF. We are grateful for the feedback that members of the congregation provided in our listening circles and through the questionnaire that many of you completed. That information has been guiding us.
The position has been listed on the UUA Transitions website for over a month and we received one application. But before we had a chance to interview that minister, they withdrew their application for personal reasons. Now we are waiting for other applicants.
The Search Committee is in touch with the UUA Transitions Office and continues to search. We meet each Sunday after our worship service to keep moving forward together. We had hoped to have a minister with whom the KUUF Board could contract starting in January. That may not be possible now with the holidays coming.
Not having a contract minister hasn’t seemed to slow us down! We continue to hold wonderful worship services, thanks to our hard-working Worship Committee and its Chairperson, Rosemary Dougall, and our Music Coordinator, Brian Kenny, and the Choir and Choir Director, Alena Hemmingway. The speakers have been excellent and the music is glorious! Although we expanded the capacity of the sanctuary, recent worship services have been very full with new people and families attending each week. And our membership has grown from 140 in April 2025 to 176 now. Thirty-five people have joined our congregation in the last seven months! Clearly, we are meeting people’s spiritual and social needs for a faith home.
Thank you for your confidence and trust,
KUUF Minister Search Committee
