It is with great sadness that we share the passing of long time KUUF member Arlis Stewart. She died peacefully in hospice in her home on Nov 21,2025. Her son Chris Stewart had been caring for her for many years and says he will greatly miss her jokes & conversation. Arlis was a KUUF archivist and very involved advocating for LGBTQ+ youth at Lambert House in Seattle and working with Kitsap Safe Schools Network.

In Japanese culture, a koden or condolence money is often given to the family to honor the deceased and to help with funeral and transition expenses. Koden gifts would be greatly appreciated and cards can be sent to: Chris Stewart c/o KUUF, PO Box 2015, Bremerton, WA 98310.

Plans for a memorial service for her will be announced sometime mid-year 2026.
