The Love Warriors Circle: Saturday, November 1, 11:50 am to 2:20 pm

  • Kitsap Unitarian Universal Fellowship 4418 Perry Avenue Northeast Bremerton, WA, 98310 United States (map)

There are so many ways to practice being a UU, our love based faith. Meditation is one way, and you are invited to join us in our second monthly meditation mini retreat on November 1. On the first Saturday of every month from 11:50 to 2:20 pm we will practice a variety of styles: guided and silent, sitting and walking, and Loving Kindness (metta). The program will be divided into 20 minute meditations, with 5 minute breaks in between. You are welcome to join for all or part of the afternoon.

A brief dharma talk will be included mid-retreat. Traditionally dharma talks are offered by spiritual teachers. Marty Bishop and Jo Walter are leading these afternoons, both have long experience in meditation, and neither are dharma teachers. So we will share talks from beloved Buddhist teachers like Thich Nhat Hanh, Pema Chodron, Joseph Goldstein and the Dalai Lama.

This is suitable for people with any level of experience, including young people.

Childcare is provided for parents who need that support in order to attend - and it also depends on childcare staff availability. Two families could partner to share childcare onsite, with adults alternating into the sanctuary for the meditations.

Please let us know that you are interested or to ask any questions by sending an email to Marty at martyl.bishop@gmail.com or text Jo at 360-551-6944. You are welcome to come without signing up in advance.

Doors open at 11:30 for Fellowship. Please arrive no later than 11:50 in order to be settled in the sanctuary, ready to begin at noon promptly.

At our October session, folks were enthusiastic about drumming as a form of meditation. And we're looking forward to doing that together in November! Join us!
