May 19, 2024 Pluralism is one of the core values of our UU tradition and of the United States, as found in the motto “e pluribus unum,” out of many, one. Today we’ll explore how pluralism in our UU tradition is interrelated with a civil religion of America—a religion that underlies political tensions, religious nationalism, and the aspirations of this country. And we’ll ask, how we are called faithfully to respond as UUs and U.S. residents and citizens?
Rev. Victoria Poling (she/her), is our KUUF quarter-time minister. She also serves as the minister to the Vashon Island Unitarian Universalists. Rev. Victoria identifies as a queer, white, and Hispanic Pacific Northwesterner. She loves blue herons, peppermint tea, and lentil soup.
