Receiving kindness and compassion changes us inwardly, expanding our awareness, deepening our compassion, and increasing our ability and desire to extend to others what we ourselves have received. But many of us have little experience of receiving kindness and compassion. Next Sunday, the Rev. Dr. Emily Melcher will lead us in a guided meditation on receiving kindness and compassion, which is part of the Compassion Practice developed by Frank Rogers, Jr., Ph.D.
The Rev. Dr. Emily Melcher is a retired Unitarian Universalist interim and parish minister. She offers spiritual direction to individuals from her home on Whidbey Island, where she lives with her spouse, Anders, and their Old English Sheepdog, Teddy.
