  • Kitsap Unitarian Universal Fellowship 4418 Perry Avenue Northeast Bremerton, WA, 98310 United States (map)

Religious radical, avant-garde cultural critic, feminist, progressive social theorist, investigative journalist, war correspondent, public intellectual—by any measure, Margaret Fuller was remarkable person. She was a central figure in the Transcendentalist movement that included Ralph Waldo Emerson and many other close friends. And she applied her ideals to an active engagement with social change here in America and political revolution abroad.

Barry Andrews is Minister Emeritus of the UU Congregation at Shelter Rock on Long Island and author of several books about Transcendentalism and Transcendentalist authors, most recently “The Gospel According to This moment: The Spiritual Message of Henry David Thoreau, published by the University of Massachusetts Press. Barry is also editor of “The Spirit Leads: Margaret Fuller in Her Own Words” and will bring copies of the book for purchase.
