Public Hospital District Conversation: Sunday, October 29 at 11:45 am
Two public health crises were identified in a resolution recently adopted by the Kitsap Public Health Board: lack of access to affordable healthcare and lack of adequate healthcare services. A countywide public hospital district could provide sustainable funding for affordable medical services not currently available in our community. How might this benefit our community?

Additionally, Kitsap County’s only hospital prohibits the provision of some legally allowed medical services, including end of life choices, abortion, and gender affirming surgeries and care. These limitations are inconsistent with Unitarian Universalist values. Could a public hospital district provide those services?

After our KUUF worship service on October 29, during our potluck, come join the table on the south side of the sanctuary and learn more and share your thoughts about the possibility of creating a public hospital district in Kitsap County. Susan Young and Beth Wilson will be at that table to provide information and listen to your thoughts about it.

Once you’ve finished filling your potluck lunch plate, just bring it over to the table with the PHD sign on it to join the conversation.
