The Worship Committee invites everyone to join us on Sunday, August 30 for our Late Summer Brunch and Blessing of the Backpack. This is NOT a potluck...the Worship Committee wants you to be our guests.

This will be an all-ages service (no children's program or childcare).

Since this is Late Summer, and school starts August 31 for most of Kitsap county, we will begin a new late-summer ritual, The Blessing of the Backpack.  We invite everyone, especially all children, to bring in their school backpacks to receive blessings from this community as you embark on your new year of learning, excitement, and possibly a few nerves. Adult teachers and learners of any kind are also welcome to receive our blessings. We want you to take the warmth of this community into your new year.  

So remember:

• Bring your backpacks (we'll let you use imaginary backpacks if you forget).

• Don't eat breakfast (you'll get French toast casserole, fruit salad, oatmeal, maple syrup, chicken sausages, and hard boiled eggs).

• If you must bring something to share, we will offer it for sale at the Farmer's Market after the service (please wrap items individually).

• Come ready to visit with each other and sing together!
