The first, organizing, meeting will be TUESDAY JAN 16 at 7 pm on ZOOM #83698217747.

Keep Democracy Working! Attend a Legislative Zoom Workshop

It’s easy to lend your voice to the legislative process when you attend a Mission and Peacemaking legislative Zoom. Once a week for an hour (come as your schedule allows), folks from Immanuel Presbyterian and others will gather on ZOOM to inform each other and advocate for social justice bills in Olympia. Our ZOOMs will end when the Legislative Session ends in early March.

The first ZOOM https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83698217747 will be held on Tuesday, January 16, at 7 pm. That meeting has 2 agenda items 1) Settle on dates/times for future ZOOMS, probably a mix of Mondays and Tuesdays with exact times TBD by interested folks and then 2) Stay for a review of how bills become laws in WA State, if you wish. Interested but unavailable Jan 16 at 7pm? Please email Beth Prevo bethiep123@comcast.net with your preference for future ZOOMS: Mondays or Tuesdays, morning, afternoon, or evening.

Our work will be guided by the legislative agendas of Faith Action Network (FAN) as well as the Alliance for Gun Responsibility (Alliance).

Beth Prevo’s home church is Immanuel Presbyterian in Tacoma’s North End. She holds master’s degrees in Pastoral Studies (2019) and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (2001), both from Seattle University. Retired from teaching since 2018, Beth is Parish Associate at Immanuel, where she’s involved with visiting the home-bound and working with the Deacon Board, facilitating spiritual retreat mornings, working with the new members’ groups, and teaching others how they can advocate in Olympia. She’s excited to be facilitating at the Priory again, this time in collaboration with her dear friend Alan Harvey.
