Epigenetics: Causes and Effects with Jill Clarridge: Sunday, September 17 at 11:45 am
Have you ever wondered why organs in your body behave differently yet all have the same DNA? Or why some people have memory loss or Alzheimer’s and not others or that identical twins are not exactly identical? Do you wonder how childhood trauma can affect later life? These differences are often due to epigenetic changes, that is, changes in interpreting or reading your DNA without permanent changes to the DNA sequence. But HOW and WHY exactly do these changes happen?
Join us after service in the KUUF Admin Building for this lecture presented as an auction item. Seats are $10. We will learn the impact that epigenetic changes have on an individual and on society.
The presenter will be Jill E. Clarridge, KUUF member and Professor Emerita, University of Washington.
