We gather this Sunday for our annual Water Communion; the ceremony symbolizes that while we may travel as separate streams during the summer months, we unite each fall as one community. As the water is poured into one bowl, we are reminded of the merging of our lives in this community, of all life on this planet.

This week, children are exploring how our faith gives us the building instructions of widening the circle. They will have the chance to lift up our UU Value of Pluralism, and its call to embrace our differences and commonalities with love, curiosity, and respect.

Our speaker, Sarah Van Gelder, was a co-founder, with a tribal elder, of the Suquamish Olalla Neighbors. She has been a member of the city of Bremerton’s Race Equity Advisory Committee, founding editor of YES! Magazine, and writes the blog “How We Rise” on Substack. She has recently retired from 6 years as communication manager of the Suquamish tribe.

The next KUUF Social Justice Committee Meeting is scheduled for Sunday, September 21, 2025 and will be held in the Admin Room from 9:00 -10:15. Continued work on our Annual Plan, the upcoming Sun Day on September 21st and our Migrant Justice efforts will be on the agenda. Additions to the agenda are welcome.

It feels like there’s peril all around us, and no less for the earth as we humans continue our destructive ways. How might we shift our hearts and minds to renew Mother Earth and ourselves?

This week, children are exploring how our faith gives us the building instructions of sharing what you have. They will have the chance to lift up the Earth-centered holiday of Mabon and our UU value of Generosity.

It's happening! On SUN DAY, September 21, after the service, we'll be celebrating the power of the sun along with communities all across the country. Our Fellowship will be spreading the word about solar and wind energy with activities for kids and adults. If you own an electric car or bike, please bring it to the Fellowship on 9/21 to be a part of our electric vehicle showcase. We may even have a parade or offer free rides! Please let Marty Bishop know if you are interested in being a part of this celebration.

Soulful Home is an ongoing parent group meeting the third Sunday of each month following the service. Parents are invited to bring a sack lunch for themselves and for their child(ren). Children will remain up in the Matan Building for childcare while parents meet to build community and explore the Soulful Home resources.
