WSAAA Lifetime Achievement Award: Shirley "Marty" Crutcher
The Washington State African American Achievement Awards (WSAAA) was founded in 2011 to highlight African Americans who have spent their lives and careers contributing to and enriching Washington State.
The goal of the WSAAA event is to illustrate to young people of color an image of great individuals of African American descent, who have helped to shape this great state of Washington.
I am proud to mention that on February 19, 2022, my Father, Mr. Shirley "Marty" Crutcher, was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the WSAAA for his contribution to racial equality and civil rights here in Bremerton. His acceptance speech follows this introduction.
Thanks, Dad, for raising this UU with an open mind, kind spirit, and solid morals.
Love, your son,
Lennie Bironne
