Happy Spring from the Parish Nurse

Hello and happy spring everyone,

By now, I hope that many of you who are eligible to receive the vaccine have been able to do so, or make appointments. The CDC just released basic guidelines on what people who are fully vaccinated may do.

Here are some highlights of the recommendations:

  • People who've been fully vaccinated (i.e., it's been at least 2 weeks since they received their final dose) can get together with others who've been fully vaccinated indoors without wearing a mask or staying at least 6 feet apart.

  • They can socialize indoors with unvaccinated people from one other household without anyone wearing a mask or social distancing if no one from the other house is at risk for severe COVID-19 illness (e.g., older adults, pregnant people).

  • They do not have to quarantine or undergo SARS-CoV-2 testing if they don't have symptoms following exposure to someone with COVID-19.

However, fully vaccinated people should continue to wear a mask and follow physical distancing practices in public or around high-risk individuals, avoid larger social gatherings, and get tested if symptomatic.

If you have not been fully vaccinated, are unable to be vaccinated at this time, or choose not to vaccinate, carry on as before. Masking and social distancing. Holding on to hope in our hearts as we move into slightly longer days, while remaining steadfast in our care for ourselves and our beloved community.
