Rainbow Chalice Committee
for GLBT Welcome and Concerns

This committee is composed of members and attending friends of KUUF who are committed to the on-going welcome and inclusion of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people in all aspects of Fellowship life, and who wish to serve the Congregation as an action arm for attending to the concerns, interests, well-being and basic rights of GLBT people, in our congregation and in society at large.

Some of the things we do:

Provide our Congregation with adult and child education programs that incorporate GLBT life issues, culture, and contributions to society and religion

Promote the use of our Sanctuary, and when possible provide celebrants, for GLBT rites of passage, such as marriages, ceremonies of union, memorial services and dedication of children

Offer hospitality in KUUF buildings for programs and meetings of local GLBT organizations and groups.

Provide a consistent KUUF presence in the GLBT rights movement by participating in and/or supporting the efforts of organizations that work to create justice, freedom and equality for GLBT people. Currently we are working to create a Safe Schools Kitsap movement.

Facilitate participation of KUUF members and attending friends in political action of their choice by making available petitions, calls to action, and sample letters to lawmakers.

Host and sponsor programs and celebrations of GLBT Pride.

Co-sponsor and support the Kitsap Safe Schools Network
