KUUF prepares BENEDICT HOUSE DINNERS for
25-30 people
250 South Cambrian Avenue, Bremerton, WA 98312, 360-405-9486

Some details:
-
KUUF is responsible for dinners from 22 Sept
thru 29 Sept. ( 8days)
-
We are serving between 25 and 30 people. We save
dinners for people coming in later in plastic containers.
-
All food except desserts must be prepared on
premises, or purchased already prepared from stores or caterers
with commercial kitchens (Costco, Fred Meyer, Central Market,
etc).
-
Bring in 2 gallons of milk every day
-
There are one stove, 2 ovens and a microwave
available for cooking.
-
The main dish is served by us in the kitchen.
The rest of the items go on the counter and the men can help
themselves.
-
Dinners are served at 6pm. Tables are set up by
the men staying there and they clear the tables. We sweep the
floors afterwards and put the dishes in the dishwasher.
-
We should contact the Benedict House before
planning our week menus to prevent duplication
-
We sign in when we arrive and record the menu
for that evening
-
KUUF is responsible for supplying bringing
coffee, paper towels and rubber gloves for the week.
-
Parking place can be a problem in front of the
building. Certain areas are limited to 2 hrs and it is important
that is obeyed for the neighbors sake.
-
One person serving has to have a food handling
permit ( valid for 2 years)
Location of foodhandling permit classes
• Silverdale Community Center Poplar room. Mondays at 9am
• Givens Community Center Port Orchard 1026 Sidney Ave 8.30 am
and 3.15
• Olympic College Wednesday at 3pm Please call 337-5235 to
confirm day, time and class location on campus.
To serve that many men, each evening we will need
at least two families each night to take on this responsibility.
The main foods including meats, fish, vegetables and fruits must
be prepared on-site at the Benedict house or be bought already
prepared directly from stores or commercial kitchens. Baked goods
are the only contributions which can be prepared at home in
advance. The Bremerton Foodline can usually provide bread and
cakes.
Donations are needed to cover some of the costs. One dinner for
25-30 men will run somewhere between $50-$60 dollars. A special
account has been set up to collect donations. To donate funds to
this project, send a check to KUUF with “Benedict House” in the
memo line.
To sign up, contact: Arlis Stewart, (360)
697-3265,
benedicthouse@kuuf.org
or use the sign up sheets in the KUUF foyer.
