The purpose of NVC is to create the quality of connection where everyone’s needs are equally valued and strategies to meet needs contribute to connection, harmony and peace.

Nonviolent Communication develops one's ability

to transform blame, anger and criticism into understanding, effective communication and the peaceful resolution of conflict.

Nonviolent Communication focuses our attention

For example:

Knit or crochet hats and scarves for distribution to folks who need them most. This is the 4th year for this project which has been a huge success in the past.

Donate any of the following to be distributed at the homeless count in January - rain ponchos, single rolls of toilet paper, sturdy flashlights and batteries, gift cards to local grocery stores, diapers, baby wipes, feminine products, blankets, ziplock bags of toilet articles, thermal underwear, gas cards, many kinds of portable snack foods etc.

Volunteer to work at the Severe Weather Shelter which will begin operating again on November 1st. Volunteer training at KCDEM on 10/08/09 at KCDEM.

Help serve meals to the homeless at a variety of locations.

Provide cell phones, toilet paper and paper towels for our Safe Park folks when they start coming. Donate top help cover the cost of the portapotty for these families ($130/ month).
